Morrowind was my first Elderscrolls game. I loved morrowind and I would buy an remaster of it.

Oblivion came out when I was an adult. I sunk thousands of hours into it when it came out. It was my favorite game by far at that time.

Skyrim I didn’t enjoy. It was fine, I guess. But by the time Skyrim came around I started to see Bethesda change. Fallout 4 and then Fallout 76 sealed the deal for me turning from a Bethesda fanboy to a hater.

Overall, I do not believe Bethesda will ever put out another new original game that is polished or quality. Bethesda rips off their biggest supporters and lies to their customers.

That being said. I’m very happy with this remake. Because it’s been 20 years since I first played, I genuinely only remember a few strong moments. All the minor quests and even the main story I barely remember the details of. So, it’s nice to revisit the game as a more mature adult. I think they did a fantastic job keeping the feel the same but it looks great considering.

Can’t run it on my LegionGo that’s my only complaint. I’m happy with having bought the remastered version of Oblivion because I’m sure as hell never buying a new original game from Bethesda ever again. Not unless they do an about face.

To me, the Reddit experience feels like shouting into the void now. Very much like alone in a crowded room (of mostly bots). You can go back and check if your posts and comments there had been blocked from being seen by others. It’s staggering how many posts and comments are blocked over there. You can see how many posts and comments from normal Redditors are hidden here: Reveddit.

Post stuff when you feel ready too! Your posts are needed because it’s just humans here. There’s no algorithm and there aren’t any bots reposting reposts.

If you weren’t there, Lemmy feels like Reddit 10 years ago in a good way.

I believe it. They disavow that they take any recordings of us before we approach but, while I’m not a suspicious person, I am suspicious of TSA and HLS. Heads up they’re going to start scanning our faces at physical border crossings in cars now too. We have the same right to refuse as citizens but you know how good that is if you’re dealing with a crooked agent.

Masks help when approaching but obviously not a cure all when you have to move it to be identified by card

In America you can refuse to have your biometrics scanned still. This is true for coming into and out internationally. Just politely say no. They cannot force you to scan your face. I always refuse.

Yes! SO many people would never ever believe this kind of evil action without hard proof. It absolutely needs to be said and reported on! Any reaction less than this is dismissive and enabling.

Yeah I could still comment normally to the chain itself and my comments. Other people in the thread were talking to me directly and normally. They were responding to my comments. I didn’t switch accounts to evade the block though. That’s so ridiculous I’m sorry someone bothered you like that.

I’ve never blocked anyone in the 12 years I was on Reddit. I’ll mock obvious bigoted trolls if they’re being actively terrible to people in my community. But that’s the limit for me engaging in an unhelpful back and forth. Usually they get bored within an hour or so when I stop giving them energy.

I’m sorry about the negative experience you’ve had on the other side of it. I think it’s pretty clear that the ability to block someone and not interact with them is important but the way it’s implemented is a crappy experience for everyone. Not to mention it seems easily exploitable.

I definitely experienced this last month. I had a weirdo block me randomly because I happen to not be a fan of historical figure, Aaron Burr. They apparently really really like Aaron Burr—so they blocked me. Whatever.

I didn’t get a notification or anything. It just looked like they’d deleted their account and never existed on my side. Ok. I shrugged and thought it was a weird UI thing and moved on.

That was until I started talking to other people and the Blocker kept unblocking me to leave me more messages only to immediately Reblock me.

I knew this was happening because I would get an email alert that I had a comment. But when I went to see the comment on Reddit, it was gone.

I don’t even know or understand what the Blocker wanted from me (except maybe falling in love with Aaron Burr-which isn’t on the table —he’s not my type).

In practice, this new policy ended up having the Blocker spam the person they’re Blocking and removing their ability to prevent being spammed.

Dude I’ve never blocked anyone or had any real trouble on any site or forum. The only time I’ve had trouble is on Reddit and only over the last 3-months. Good riddance.

I have been wondering the same thing. It would be useful to have an active docket of the DOJ for all cases against large corporations and how many now lose steam or have the lead attorneys replaced.

I also worry about the whistleblower program. If you are a corporate whistleblower, if the government wins on your tip you get around 15%-ish of the takings. So, whistleblowing on something big enough can net you a few million USD or more. Something else to watch. I assume this will break quickly too under this administration.

I’ve gotten an admin auto ban from a sub recently. That sent me a mail directly. (The sub mobs overturned it.)

The other bans I got from subs were like you say—banned from the sub it’s elf (like for commenting in another sub) depended on whether or not they decided to push mail.

Man that is such a painful travesty. I can’t imagine trashing your friend and cofounder into the trash like that after what happened. We will remember Aaron.

I had all my comments admin removed that were criticizing Russia from an academic perspective and academic tone. I even cite and quote well respected interns relations journals that are totally neutral to traditional conservative in leaning. Nope.

What’s so utterly bizarre is that the “conservative” community on Reddit keeps blasting that it’s “ultra-left.” If plainly stating “Russia’s war time economy is something I don’t like” is “ultra-left” then I am fucked and probably already on a list haha

Welcome! Similar story. I upvoted on a long standing account and got warned. Not sure which upvote did it. I’ve got a few hundred thousand karma across accounts. Had a fair share of OC hitall. Pretty typical engaged user.

Then I tried to help someone in a niche sub with buying bedding. And auto admin mod kept removing my comment post. Then the sub mods messaged me and said they tried to make my comment visible multiple times and couldn’t override the admin.

Then I followed mod advice and reposted my helpful comment only to get an auto banned on all accounts from the admin for “spam” (for two comments? Really?). The sub admin were able to override the ban and reinstate me since I did nothing wrong.

It’s way too frustrating to deal with. Out of the past year like 800 normal/helpful comments of mine have been shadow removed or admin removed.

At that point I’m just talking to myself. After 12 years, I never thought I’d leave Reddit but here we are. Happy to be on Lemmy.

I’m from Reddit too. I started on Lemm.ee and I made accounts at like 4 other instances. It’s extremely easy to make accounts and switch in the app you’re using (I’m on Voyager).

Feddit.org, a German server, was down earlier for Maintenace and I switched to infosec. It’s really easy. Not a commitment to apply and jump between instances.

You don’t have to wait. You could apply for a few you like the description of and try them out. If you don’t like them, don’t use them. If you like them—stau! :)
