Always use the up-to-date version.
Whenever there’s consistent playback issues there’s usually an update on the horizon. Just have to be patient.
ETA: I’m watching videos on Freetube
right now. It’s working just fine.

- The admins claimed to have reviewed said mod actions, didn’t find anything out of the ordinary, but still got rid of them.
My understanding was that this mod’s accounts disappeared from everywhere (including Reddit), not just Fosstodon. So, I think they deleted their accounts themselves to avoid the backlash or something.
I’m not a software dev, but that’s what I was thinking when I said maybe there’s a reason for it. I still feel like it’s a shit change, but that’s because I use the function.
That, for sure, is one of the most garbage changes imaginable.
Someone conciously had to go out of their way to remove functionality there.
Maybe there’s a reason for it, but I still think it’s a shit change.
Thanks, but it won’t really affect me. I only use Freetube
when I want to access Youtube
I’m not defending google here, but I’m sure a decent chunk of the complaints are just bitching because “change bad!”
I haven’t seen the change yet and I’m sure there are legitimate complaints as well, but us online folk tend to detest even the smallest changes and go a bit overboard in our complaining sometimes.
And I hope those artists get added to the list for the bot to post as well.
Either way, just know your efforts are appreciated.
This is absolutely amazing and all of us in the anime communities appreciate your efforts.
I hope I speak for all of us when I say thank you.
If you’re up for ARPGs, something like Titan Quest or Grim Dawn have many hours worth of gameplay.
Worth looking at as well is anything in the Monster Hunter series. World and Rise are both amazing along with their expansions and Wilds just recently released.
All of my recommendations are long-term games with many hours worth of playtime.
Nice. Hope that Nix works out for you then.
I’m still figuring out where I really fall on the stability spectrum. Love the idea of stability, hate the idea of old packages. I’ll be looking at stable releases with Flatpaks at some point for my more work-oriented machines.
Try EndeavourOS for an easier Arch.
Unless you really want to try NixOS. Then just pretend I never said anything.
I’m long awaiting this company burning to the ground and it’s CEO imprisoned.
Hopefully he’s “imprisoned” in the building while it burns down.
You pull moderately hard.
Edit: If it’s superglue you might have to pull a bit harder.
Wish instance blocking actually blocked properly. But the main devs know everyone would block the tanky triad immediately and they’d have no one to troll.
I also don’t agree with the killer games thing, but humans are very adaptable as a species.
Normally that’s a good thing, but in a case like this exposure to something shocking or upsetting can make it less shocking or upsetting over time (obviously not in every case). So, if AI is being used for something like this and being reported on isn’t it possible that people might slowly get desensitized to it over time?
That’s fair, but I still think it shouldn’t be accepted or allowed.
Fair enough. I still think it shouldn’t be allowed though.
Yes, but how is the AI making the images or videos? It has to be trained on SOMETHING.
So, regardless of direct harm or not, harm is done at some point in the process and it needs to be stopped before it slips and gets worse because people “get used to” it.
Wish I could help you figure that out, but I’m a total linux noob. The EndeavourOS forums would be a good place to start though.
