The pentiometer joysticks were fine, its just manufacturers all cheaped out and produce inferior ones now. Its a win win for them, cheaper to produce and you buy more when they break! Same damn thing happened with mouse buttons.

Gps wont be replaced. Gps works litterally anywhere on the planet’s surface without any other data connection. Your phones acceleratormeters are decent. But will quickly become disoriented without recalibration from gps.

The ps1 didnt copy the snes. Nintendo contracted Sony to design a CD attachment for the snes, but then nintendo went to Philips and partnered with the CD-i project. Which pissed off sony and they used their experience and infinite resources to design a new system purely in spite. It just turned out being too good.

As for using the “same” sound chip. Are we really suprised that a company who owns a circuit chip manufacturer would use their own chips?

It is slow, and a massive memory hog. Its not exactly javas fault (i mean it is to a point). Its just minecraft’s code is trash. Mods are the only thing that keeps people on using java.
