Do either of them work on the Steam Deck yet?

Last time I tried, last year I think, I couldn’t get the controller to work correctly.

And Gnome is probably not for you.

They make a desktop which is opinionated, and in some ways pushes things forwards. For example it is nice to not have to always deal with the awful Start button metaphor.

On the others it can be a constraint. Only wanting to support the modern icon tray lead to years of having to use an extension for all the software that didn’t.

And that’s fine. That’s why we have KDE and XFCE.

I personally much prefer the Gnome flow which gets out my way, and find KDE to feel much more archaic. I don’t want docks and bars, I don’t want the desktop to be more than a place to hold my applications.

What do you mean “centered”? The top bar is top, and the clock is centered.

My comment on all of this was purely that Bitwarden password was a single point of failure. Now we can shift that single point of failure somewhere else!

They don’t, but by providing a “classic tier” they get to kill anyone’s argument against it by saying “just don’t get it”, until they then discontinue the “classic tier” due to a “lack of demand”, and force Office users to have AI and pay for it too.

No one is locked into the Steam store. Any of the others could release a Linux handheld if they wanted to.

First they would have to make an interface that works in a console like way, and then actually make the launchers work on Linux. But this would require effort, and neither care about actually supporting customers.

Epic is far happier being customer hostile.

I’ve been though the Steam Sales for well over 10 years now, and I remember when they switched up how they did it.

Yeah you no longer have a 90% discount for a single day on a game so there isn’t anywhere near as much chatter, which I miss, but there are plently of big names with 90% off. I think that is either what you miss, or you are now 5 years older and just don’t get as excited, or there hasn’t been much released that interest you.

That’s weird that there are several ways to get access to the Quick Guides, and some seem to want an email.

However it doesn’t use it and takes junk (I just used [email protected] which was accepted), but sad that the form you found needed it.

But to answer your question, no I missed that link and went to “downloads” which also has the guide but doesn’t appear to require any email.

I just did a websearch and first result was a download link on their US website too which didn’t require registration.

If you use a reputable brand, such as TerraMaster you’ll avoid all of the scare stories you hear.

That sounds likes its underpowered and when the draw is up the supply can’t handle it, which could happen for internal drives if your supply isn’t up to powering enough drives.

Use a reputable brand like TerraMaster and you’ll not have those sorts of problems.

You can get plently of performant arrays over USB. You do know how much USB 3.1 or 4 can transmit?

Enclosures often don’t cool as well so heat may degrade your disks faster as well.

DAS enclosures can do a great job of cooling by separating and not sharing the air inside a single case.
