Oh neat, I want a nice game
What, manually, without reaching for schema.msi?
Actually , either way is crazy
Thankyou!
Gosh randall is always on point, though. Either a complete psycho or a savant of the human perspective (laziness, i guess? It seems like most of his stuff is mocking the lazy process fails in science, bureaucracy or people interactions)
Thanks for that - I hadn’t thought about the rest of the domain in the name.
I was purely thinking about it from a hypothetical risk-mitigation perspective.
As you can imagine, keeping ‘the old crap around’ in case of a need to roll back would be handy in some migrations… Assuming the same IP complicates that.
However, I guess a machine can have multiple IPs so it needn’t be too much of a drama if it’s just a matter of moving the original IP when rolling back…
Just chipping in here but I gather 60 concurrent editors is pushing what most people have experienced - so thanks for your perspective!
Most I’ve dealt with is about 5 (in Excell) - and the actual changes were not really being made frequently or by all parties. The worst part was the project manager altering the view and fucking up everyone else’s perspective (even though each had their own?!) - Classic PM stuff.
Does Sheets and the rest of the Google suite handle this well?
You are a saint with that kind of compassionate thinking - well done!
did you mean tist?
But …we’re human - bullshit is really all we’ve got.
I suppose there is science, but eww…
Is that a standard hog or a chefs hog?
I love that you felt like this needed explaining - thanks!
I might be a slow learner but I’m catching on…
That’s, you’ve really added value!
Been there, done that!
Didn’t really learn from it either, sadly - it just made everything azure taste like ass
(not in a good way!)
Yeah but there’s other contributing factors, such as the highly traditional society and a greater sense of honour and conformity
Holy shit that must be equally frustrating and satisfying all at once - what a turn around!
Sadly it’s a lot cheaper than a support hotline…
Oh yeah, I remember these! They were often shaped to fit in around the strip of function keys (and some weird ones down the side?)
Possibly the void trilogy from peter f Hamilton.
Another one with different cultures is the expanse, by James s.a. Corey. This is more different around the belters and whatnot.
Dune and the freemen are amazing. Some of the earlier parts (this is a massive topic!) are really different, with the bene Gesserit and fremen, tleilaxu gholas, etc
Certainly the culture, with it’s post-scarcity absence of an economy stands out. I have read any from le guin, yet.
I would love the enders saga completely done in a faithful way. I can see how it won’t be, of course, but it brought me to tears so many times I’d love to watch it (and share it with non-readers!)
Working through the dune series would be great , too - also not really feasible
