It sold well, but Activision saw more value in VV working as a CoD support studio. They pitched a 3+4 remake and Activision passed on it.

Wow that actually looks really cool. Now, how much do I owe you?
This take will probably be unpopular, but FWIW I agree with you. I rarely use the community feature and I don’t care about the trading so personally I would like it if they just stuck with what they do well.
“And here is my hard drive dedicated to game launchers and storefronts.”
Sony likes to pretend they’re consumer friendly with stuff like this but it always comes with a huge caveat to try to push people into their closed ecosystem. Same idea as releasing PS Studios games on PC, but only just before the PS exclusive sequel comes out.
His heart got smaller too
I think it depends on the circumstances. I work for a publisher and submitted a request for one of my clients copyrighted books to be removed from the archive, and they took it down the same day.
The fucksmith post in question has been removed by moderators, so I wonder if Google really is pressuring Reddit to remove jokes from their platform now. This person had no idea their shit post would be used to train AI over a decade later, and they certainly weren’t violating any policies when they posted it. It’s like nobody involved in this process knew anything about Reddit.
Pay $60 million to train on bad data.
Implement AI trained on bad data.
Panic when the AI returns bad answers.
Manually remove bad data.
Profit??
Edit: it was removed when I checked yesterday, but it looks like they restored it.
No way! You’re sure it’s the same person from the post? If so, what a wild ride.
Y’all remember that post about the “science-based dragon MMO” that topped the gaming page of…that other site…? If not, I’ll include the title and image below, because it’s got the same energy as this post.
Dear internet, I’m a 26 year old lady who’s been developing a science-based, 100% dragon MMO for the last two years. I’m finally making my beta-website now, and using my 3D work as a base to create my 50+ concept images. Wish me luck, Reddit; You’ll be the first to see the site when it’s finished.
The comments were surprisingly constructive considering she basically pasted zsphere sketches over a generic background and announced she had been solo developing the most ambitious dragon fucking game the world has ever seen. It’s been 12 years, I wonder how she’s doing?
Reviewers are saying it is not able to do this, along with several other promised features.
I loved BoTW and ToTK, but your criticisms are pretty much on point. I’m hoping a future game can combine the sense of exploration of the newer games with the traditional dungeons and bosses of the older games, with Majora’s Mask level side quests please!
The article is about faked images, so it makes sense they’d make the thumbnail image appear fake at a glance.
If Lemmy has taught me anything this is a Linux user’s dream because now they can install Linux on the machine.
Of fucking course they do. Why else would they shitcan 5% of their employees. I’d be shocked if Epic, Sony and Microsoft aren’t doing the exact same thing: fire your creative employees and replace them with a LLM that can churn out Gaming Content that’s easy to monetize. Goodbye original game ideas and hello live service cash grabs.
I really wish all of these companies racing to replace their existing software features and employees with LLMs understood this. So many applications are dependent on a response being 100% accurate for a very specific request as opposed to being 80% accurate for a wide variety of requests. “Based on training data, here’s what a response to your input might look like” is pretty good for conversational language and image generation, but it sucks for anything requiring computation or expertise. Worst of all, it’s so confidently wrong about things I might as well be back on Reddit.
I have a Visible plan (Verizon network, which works best in my area). Unlimited data and it’s a flat $30/mo. Did Google Fi and Xfinity Mobile before this and Visible is the one I like the best.
I’m so fucking sick of being told how great the economy and stock market are doing when it really translates to “executives are automating away their workers and making insane amounts of money off it.”
For anyone not yet aware this video series is adapted from a 12 year old blog of the same name: https://what-if.xkcd.com/1/. If you like these hypotheticals, you can find more in the archive.
They targeted gamers.
