Sir/madam/???, this is a community called Reddit. This specifically is where people would care(though I agree with the sentiment).
In addition there are unfortunately a lot of solutions on there. I’ve uninstalled reddit a long time ago and don’t browse/scroll it, but for specific topics and especially IT stuff I sometimes find solutions there. I may find em on stack exchange or any of the other various sites, including company forums, but sometimes Reddit will have the right solution. I’d rather it not since it seems to perform even worse these days, but it’s the unfortunate truth
I work for a managed service provider, and security for our clients is one of our most important goals.
Our CEO accidentally got phished then sent out emails to all our clients. We rolled with it by explaining kinda what you just said.
I’m reading this on my 8" Onn right now … (I normally use a fold but my screen finally failed, and I like having a large screen for reading, be it books, manga/manhwa, or Lemmy). I used to be into flashing a while back but I haven’t bothered recently. I agree it’s a good idea, but it’s low on my current list of stuff I need to get done. (Like moving from Windows to Linux on my main pc).
Edit I do have the Amazon one also, but explaining why I bought the Onn when I already have a Fire HD 8 is just going to make me look worse…
Eh, I don’t really see an issue with it at my age, but I guess for younger people it could be bad. I’m in my 40s now, but aside from producing some data to be mined, I don’t see how people knowing that hurts me.
Yeah, but if you want more people to talk about it with you should link it anyway, so others can try it out.
Pentaprisms from SLR cameras have a similar but slightly different function, so personally as an amateur photographer who doesn’t use a SLR but learned about em, I think it’s pretty easy for photographers who used such tech to relate.
Ffxiv also, has both native and steam, which is useful for steamdeck even if you don’t have it for steam. FFXIVLauncher does the login then uses the fully functional steam demo to play.
Really? Why does Deathstroke and Deadpool both exist? One is DC, one is Marvel, and Deadpool pretty much started as an expy. Slade Wilson and Wade Wilson. You’re arguing from a place of what feels like it should be wrong, yet your fake example has been done in the real world and they got away with it.
This happens so many times in industries they can often just argue parody. In fact, changing a name slightly is classic parody to avoid being sued. Japan in particular often just bleeps out a syllable or forgets a character in the name.
Lots of games are also called Roguelike. Based off a game called Rogue. The makers of Rogue do not get to sue the makers of Hades.
Pets that fight for you, including being able to store them for portable carry has been done by many other games, including Ark. In fact, playing Palworld made me compare it more to Ark than Pokemon: base building, automation, catching dinos/animals/monsters of different varieties for different uses. Some can fly, some run, some can be used as parachutes. Some help automate actions at base. There is a tech tree unlocked by leveling, starting with primitive weapons and moving on to guns and higher caliber guns. Blueprints are common in ark for higher quality crafts to build at, you guessed it, crafting benches.
Collecting wood, stone, metals, etc. Also the animal assistants can help there too, but only certain ones. Also, Ark has cryopods for storing your animals/dinosaurs. You even throw em to release.
If they had exactly Pikachu or something it’s one thing, but similar games are just part of the business.
Networking, we had a remote office in Europe (I’m in the US) and wanted to reset a phone. Phone was on port 10 of the Cisco switch, port 1 went to the firewall (not my design, already in place).
Helping my coworker, I tell her to shut port 10.
Shut port 1, enter.
Ok… office is offline and on another continent…
People like these? I do em all the time but always feel I’m overexplaining.
Only if they get caught. Looking at you VW.
Having tried to use those, my main issue was the 710 is an unreliable 2.4ghz wireless, when bluetooth controllers all worked much better for me. I couldn’t get the 710 to have reliable button presses from more than like 4 feet from my pc, so I ended up just using the 310 wired. Maybe there isn’t enough interference on the sub for that to be an issue.
As people have pointed out, they’re an advocacy group, and trying to reach less aware people. The fact that Elon banned em shows it was most likely working.
… as opposed to American Spyware? I’m no fan of any governments, including both Chinese and American (not fully anti government, just think all need drastic improvments) but while I understand calling it Spyware, the focus on Chinese feels a bit sinophobic. Facebook does bad spying work too, plus has run experiments on users live. Cambridge Analytica stole info for political means as well. Google, ISPs, and many other info sites collect and sell info on you, and many of them will submit info to governments when requested. X/Twitter is run by an egotistical MAGA idiot who is blocking stuff he doesn’t like but allowing Nazis to be broadcast to everyone.
They should all be considered similarly problematic.
Rip off were the words I originally wrote, but I didn’t feel like being that mean about it. I don’t fault your reasoning though.
