For bagged black tea, I use a kettle to boil water, pour it over the bag in a 15 oz mug, and steep for three minutes. If you don’t have a kettle, a microwave works fine (contrary to what snobs say), but be aware that it will be hotter than you’d get from a kettle because it also heats the mug. If the tea is bitter, cut the heat and steep time. If it’s not strong enough, adding more tea leaves is ideal, but adding heat or steep time can also help.

Edit: I don’t agitate tea as it is steeping but I imagine it would have a similar effect to increasing steep time.

Yeah, I sometimes forget that the law isn’t a code to be broken with this One Neat Trick. That goes double when you are going up against power.

I’ve been happy with btrfs. No issues with gaming. There’s even a pretty good Windows driver, which I’ve used successfully to transfer data between Linux & Windows. Though I haven’t installed Windows itself to btrfs, which is apparently possible!

As someone from the US, a hearty thank you to Europeans. Not all of these will directly benefit me, but some of it will. Also, Apple has to be so fucking mad that they can’t keep their app store monopoly, even if just in Europe.

Obviously taken to an extreme it’s bad, but I think it’s fine to have a function that can do one thing two or more different ways and ignore a certain parameter if one of the ways doesn’t need it. I’ve done some programming against the Win32 API and this is what jumped to mind for me, and I think it’s the typical case here. If I were designing from scratch I might split it into n functions that do it one way, but it’s such a small difference I wouldn’t fret over it. And of course making a change to the Windows API is an undertaking, probably not worth it in most cases.

I think its biggest weakness is also its biggest strength: isolation. Sometimes desktop integration doesn’t work quite right. For instance, the 1password browser extension can’t integrate with the desktop app when you use flatpak firefox.

I keep seeing this criticism, but flatpak provides a run command on its cli that works just fine. It is a little clunky though.
