Well, I hear LW described as “people that want it to be like reddit” so maybe because LW is large and seen as very reddit-like in terms of rules/policy they wouldn’t want to join current popular instances.

I have a friend on discord trying to convince us all to play it. All I hear is “Dude, I want to get all my friends on before Pyro so you all know how to play”.

When a games got a whale shop while it’s developed, and the only thing I’ve seen pumped out are more ships with designs for future implementations that are probably a decade away, I feel like you’re more buying a hope and dream than a game.

Besides, the tutorial sucks ass, and doesn’t work half the time, maybe make the onboarding experience better before pumping out the next $1000+ ship. That would be my suggestion for that thing.

Idk, same reason older generations liked TV so much. Keep in mind they had to air the “It’s X o’clock, do you know where your kids are” commercial because they literally were glued to the TV. So when an older person says some shit about video games, remind them of this.

+1 to steam sales being more worthwhile back then. I 1000% understand the ownership thing. I don’t think most people had to consider what digital purchases really could mean until Sony pulled purchased content out of people’s libraries.

I personally don’t think Steam is comparable to Sony apart from digital purchases. Steam or Valve aren’t beholden to large share holders because they aren’t publicly traded, I don’t think they’ll have the same objectives as Sony and prioritize their users instead of public shareholders.

I’d be happier if dedicated servers became the norm again for developers. Games wouldn’t disappear at the flick of a switch when servers are decommissioned.

How has steam experience been for you? I’ve been on steam for about 20 years and don’t recall they doing anything the likes of Sony doing to their customers.
