I managed to find aoe3 and aom on the site by using a site-filtered Google search. Couldn’t find 1 or 2, but with both of those that I found being “remake”, I suspect the two I didn’t find would be the same.

It’s interesting, and perhaps highlights how vague the line is between remake and remaster. AoM I can see being called a remake (at a bit of a stretch), but 2 & 3 are pretty solidly remasters in my mind, due to being entirely in the original engine with just a bit of new QoL features and improved graphics added.

Updated how exactly? Oblivion and Skyrim both have pretty serious flaws. I believe there are popular mods to fix the Oblivion system in a way that still feels like Oblivion, though it’s been a long time since I’ve read in to any of it.

IMO a “simple browser” of this sort should display literally only the content in the HTML file itself. It shouldn’t even view CSS stored in a separate local CSS file, let alone reach out to the web to download more content.

Just to be clear, I wasn’t making a moral argument in my previous comment, only a technical one. If their software causes slowdowns in many real-world cases, I blame them for it, not just the people who are using it.

If very many developers integrating Denuvo are making errors with it, it’s because of Denuvo. Their documentation is insufficient or their interface is poorly designed or something. Or maybe their code really is just shit. Most likely some combination of factors. Regardless, I’m not letting them off the hook; this is still their fault as much as it is that of the companies choosing to use it.

Any web page can be printed. Any print can be sent to a PDF generator. It might not look super pretty, but it’ll get the job done. I recommend making sure you’re on light mode before you print though, because dark mode has grey text instead of black.

To be fair to JavaScript (I feel gross just saying that), it does have the ability to do some more functional-like programming as well. For example, many of its more recent array methods like filter, map, and reduce are pure functions.

Nothing wrong with classes in functional programming though. Just return a new instance of the class from your method, rather than mutating an existing instance.

Honestly I can’t even figure out how to get that alpine-chrome image to work. I edited my Dockerfile to say

I tried changing USER node to USER chrome. I removed all the apt-get dependencies that were needed to get Puppeteer working in Docker on my PC in the first instance, and added --chown=chrome to my COPY package.json line, all as described in the with-puppeteer example. I also added the ENV lines from that. (I also tried various combinations of some of the aforementioned changes but not others.) Now I get an error with the npm install step.
