Exactly. The app developers were willing to make changes but they didn’t give them nearly enough time to do it. They dropped the changes at the last-minute and then lied about what they and the developers said in their private conversations. Then they got mad at the Apollo dev for recording it to cover their ass. It’s like getting mad at your partner when you cheated on them lol.

Right? I know Sam Altman sucks but I don’t know if he was fired for more profit or less, or what exactly is going on. I’m not sure how to react to these articles besides surprise and bemusement.

How long has Gamurs owned The Escapists? I thought it was getting suspicious lately how many different things they were trying to get money so quickly.

They were putting more sponsor segments in ZP videos at different points and Nick would respond in the comments when people complained, trying to find a good place to put them. Then they started letting Yahtzee curse more and offering the uncensored version on their subscription service. And these changes were quickly one right after the other. I should’ve known something like this was coming, but I’m still sad about it. I hate capitalism so much. Why does these corporations have to ruin all my favorite things?

Tbh, while in this case I think it’s egregious because I don’t think using a VPN should actually be a crime, I’d love to see that punishment system used in the US.

Imagine if instead of paying fines for illegal stuff and then continuing to ignore the laws, Facebook, X, and other rich people and corporations had to pay back all the income made from doing their illegal activity.

I only have the same issue with Mastadon that I do with Lemmy, I have no idea what instance to join. This one I’m apart of now for Lemmy I randomly joined when the admin said he’d accept reddit refugees who wanted to try out Lemmy.

If anyone has any suggestions for good instances to pick I’d give Mastadon a try. Otherwise, it’s a nightmare for people like me (who’s been compared to Chidi from The Good Place in terms of my overthinking and decision making).

Lol so true. Once you block them, you just see the comments of people mad at them without any of the context and it’s just so annoying.

They tend to come from the same instances, so it’s pretty easy to block actually, especially after the next Lemmy update comes out. Block hexbear and Lemmygrad and you already got almost all of them. You can do that with certain mobile apps.

That’s how it worked for Mastadon. People come over in waves each time it gets slightly shittier, or so I’ve heard.

Hopefully this spurs someone to go to the CFPB or something and sue. These companies need to stop pulling this retroactive change bullshit, like Unity, Wizards, ad now Hue.

To be honest, I think it is good that we’re starting to see the conversation reframed from that of a consumer to that of a worker. People need to learn to think of themselves that way, not as pure consumers. Maybe it’ll spread to also being nicer to waiters and stuff like that.

I would say so. Their front page is way different, and, in my opinion, worse now. Not sure if it’s made a noticeable difference to their customer base, but from a consumer standpoint 100%.
