I read part of it; it was too painful to read more.
I kept finding myself saying “Well that’s stupid” over and over again.
Edit: To clarify, it’s yaml parsing that is “stupid”; the article was great.

I remember when this started years ago (in the before AI times): Jolly Roger Telephone.
Seems now they are using AI too.
Wood colored concrete 🤔!
Far more than I am proud to say, far more.
If I have a nickel for everytime someone said “The cloud never goes down”.
I’d have a lot of nickels and would spend my time doing something I like a lot more than working 🤑.
What this NCO did was not dumb; it was calculated and intentional violations of multiple rules and regulations they (and the others involved) knew very well. Then they tried to cover it up when people started asking questions.
Absolutely no sympathy for them in my book. These are supposed to be the leaders other enlisted look to emulate.
Of course they won’t be; somebody has to debug all the crap AI writes.
I’ll take the non-AI using pharmacist for the win. Thank you very much.
Try this: DSL Linux
I once abused an SMTP relay (my own) by emailing Novell a 400+ MB memory dump. Their FTP site kept timing out.
After all that, and them swearing they had to have it, the OS team said “Nope, we’re not going to look at it”. Guess how I feel about Novell after that?
This was in the mid-90’s.
I’ve had those things before. But there is maintenance and power to factor in; so not entirely free.
Rejects from the plane assembly line. Now that’s scary!
Had one application that would (somethings) give the message: Hey baby, you’re an object.
Some users where not amused.
What are we going to do tomorrow night Brain?
Where’s Major Tom?
They can have him, I don’t want him; he’s too (everything horrible) for me.
Well, I and my AD&D group tried:
About once a year, we would play an “evil group”. We were trying to capture a silver dragon to enslave it (a good creature). To attract it, we locked the men and women of the town in the church and set it on fire. Still not evil enough to get it’s attention. So . . . we started throwing the children/babies in the fire too.
That did it!
comparison to electric furnaces. That has been widely known for years to be hilariously inefficient.
By this, I’m thinking you mean “electric resistance heating” - i.e an electric heater.
Electric resistance heat is 100% efficient. Heat pumps can easily be 200%+ efficient.
Math checks out; ship it!
Yaml parsing. Article was great.
