I think the real reason the discussions on reddit have been in decline is because

• reddit promotes controversy and ragebait, as this has been proven to “increase user engagement”.
• more recently reddit has been wielding the ban hammer hard and perma banning people over things they would previously let slide.

Maybe, however there’s every chance he could be out before then. At which point the golden parachute will activate. Meanwhile, reddit will throw all the shade on him yet change nothing in the course of action.

However he very well could maintain shares in the company after leaving, which of course means he would benefit from the IPO.

Honestly I kind of wonder if this is all some kind of coordinated power grab to crack down on public spaces in the build up to 2024 elections.

I want reddit to die. It had its day, and what we have now is a poor reflection on what it was and what it’s supposed to be. Change is a good thing, it leads to improvement and making things better.

Relay was my go to app also, something about the flow of the app UI always appealed to me more than any other apps. So much so, I continued using it even after I found the paid app included trackers (these can be blocked with Warden, a rare app scanner you can find on github).

However even if I wanted to stay on reddit I don’t think I’d pay a monthly subscription.

Reddit really should be paying users, not the other way around. They steal our data for free and seek to profit from it.

If you ordered the PC version direct from CDPR then you’ll get the expansions for free.

Edit: Maybe not, it’s listed as a separate item on the GOG store page… CDPR might just be dropping their standards even more.

I don’t think it would be a “take them to court” job - in particular you’d struggle to prove actual damages. However you most definitely can report them to your country’s Information Commissioner’s Office, then leave the matter with them.

It’s not lies, that’s certainly been the case for me. If I visit old reddit, I get a broken page. If I log in and then visit old reddit, it works.

Make sure you do a GDPR data request first. The csv files contain a lot of stuff (although they don’t contain any associated accounts they believe you have), in particular there are links to every comment. Your profile doesn’t show every single comment you’ve ever made, and if you just delete your account they will delete the user but leave the comments up.

So you have to do it carefully. PowerDeleteSuite is good, however as I say it only has access to what’s on your profile - many older comments with lower karma will be missed.

It should be straightforward to use the csv files to extract the links and edit + delete from there, in the same way that PSD does it from the profile, but I’m still looking for something that does that.

200k+ comment karma, from 75,000 comments. I’ve run PowerDeleteSuite, but it hasn’t quite got everything. I think I need to use the GDPR request csv files to get the comments that don’t display in the profile, but I’m looking for something that will automate this.
