The English word ‘speaker’ has multiple meanings. In Hungarian, there is a different word for a speaker device that casts sound (hangszóró, “sound caster”) and Speaker of the House of Parliament (házelnök, “president of the house”).

Still, when googling one, you may get results for the other. 🤷

If you drive. If you use public transport you can inhale other people’s BO instead.

But yes, if you commute, nobody gains only you lose.

Forget the cost of travel, if my commute is one hour, that’s two per day, ten per week, that’s an EXTRA WEEK they demand that I donate of my time to the company each month.

I’m not familiar with the books, and the plot summary of their Wikipedia article does not mention nuclear propulsion whereas the article for the series does, so I went with that.

Unless what bothers you is the x followed by the apostrophe and the s, which I never know when to omit the s, so it is what it is.

It’s not uncommon in scifi. Netflix’s Three Body Problem also explores such a solution in quite some depth.

I got permabanned from /r/askhistorians for having a “vulgar” username. Yeah, this one that I’m using now. I had been lurking for years, one time I commented a thank you to someone’s reply, and bam! I was gone.

If you ever feel useless just remember somebody designed and implemented the share-to-facebook feature on porn sites.

I’ve been cycling through them a few months at a time. When it gets harder and harder to find something interesting on, say, Netflix, I cancel and sign up for, say, HBO, then a few months later Disney+, rinse and repeat.

I refuse to pay for more than one at a time because I’m not watching more than one at a time. And when I go back to any of them after many months away, there will be new programmes in their catalogue.

If we have to have an evil government, it’s lucky that they are also quite incompetent.

Is this the one they said you’d need to register with a photo id if you wanted to access porn sites? The one opponents said would do the most good for online safety by teaching the nation to use VPN?

Why though? How is his life any different if he makes more money?

It takes a bit of effort to avoid amazon, and it does cost a bit more in money and convenience, but it is possible to not buy from them.

(It’s virtually impossible not to use their web services though unless you are a member of an uncontacted tribe in the, you guessed it, Amazon jungle).
