SCMP has always sided with mainland China on crux issues, but I’ve read them on and off for nearly 10 years now and have found them to be very reliable.

I put about 2000 hours of work into $open_source_project. After a huge release 10xing the quality, we had about 1000x as many users.

The existing user base was ecstatic- for many of them, it was all they ever wanted and more. But we had 1000x new people saying “it just isn’t there yet”

That would be a-m-a-z-i-n-g. Private game servers, fan remakes of shows and movies, I would be over the moon.

Too bad it won’t happen

I think the community matters a lot more than the instance. Hexbear has a bunch of coping bubble communities but they keep posting the same low-quality comments, so that’s probably why the threshold of 20 comments is so high. Another example, I make posts to my own blog community [email protected], but there’s no subscribers so there’s never gonna be any comments.

Basically I’m saying you should do this same analysis across a sample of random communities ^^
