  • You know why governments exist? Like, at their core? To take care of the fucking people living under them. It’s why village A stopped attacking village B, cuz they realized that, if they pooled their resources, they could defend against the fucking leopards and bears better. So yes, your taxes would go up. But you know what? Unless you’re actually rich, and not even like net worth of 3 million dollars or something, that ain’t even rich, but unless you’re RICH rich, you’ll get more throught that “handout” than you would pay in taxes. And the fact that it’d be funded through your taxes means it’s not even a handout to begin with! It’s a government SERVICE. The thing that made banding together in groups of more than a dozen people sound like a good idea in the first place.

Now, as for your point of having a lot of money not obligating you to support bums… well, first. Fuck you. You’re an asshole. And second, 50% of homeless people in the US are former foster kids that aged out of the system and have no support network. So I guess just fuck them, they get to die on the streets, right? Bad luck to not be born with wealthy parents. And historically, having a lot of money DID mean you had an obligation to support these so called “bums”. From the '40s to 1963, the top tax rates were ~90%. On the ultra wealthy. The Rockefellers and whatnots. Now it’s what? I dunno, 30%? That is, if you don’t use creative accounting and just make it .01%, which we all know is the typical practice. It’s not a handout, it’s making these rich beyond rich fucking assholes pay their fair share. But you can keep licking that boot, because, sure. Someday, YOU’LL make it. And when you have more money than you can possibly use in your great grandchildren’s lifetimes, it’ll be really important to you to keep some just turned 18 year old kid, who bounced around the foster system his whole life, and has no support system at all, out of housing. Good for you.

  • Slay the Spire - a roguelike deckbuilder is a lot of fun.

I haven’t actually tried it, but Balatro has made a lot of waves recently and I imagine you could play that with only mouse.

Also, what kind of mouse are you using? If you’re still on a no thumb buttons mouse, you should definitely upgrade. If you only have 2 thumb buttons, as is most common, I’d recommend looking at something with more. My mouse has 3 thumb buttons, and two extra index finger buttons. logitech g502 and while some people like that mouse (i do) some don’t, so I can’t say whether you’d like it, but I will say the extra buttons have allowed me to set up a lot of games that would normally require a keyboard as well into a more mouse only friendly experience.

  • Nor do I think he’s a horrible person for edgy comments and actions that most of us have definitely done one way or another on the Internet.

Now, I pay no attention at all to pewdiepie, and this is the first I’ve heard about this paying people to hold up an anti-semitic sign as a “joke”, or whatever, but from my limited knowledge, this sort of behavior is absolutely the hallmark of a horrible person. There is a world of difference between the average “edgy” comment and paying people to hold up a sign that says “death to all jews”.

  • The Boys, Fallout, Invincible, Good Omens. These were all good shows, though the Boys is kinda wearing thin and I’m glad it’s ending next season.

Haven’t seen em, but Jack Ryan, Reacher, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, The Marvelous Ms. Maisel…all these seem to have done extremely well and been popular.

Sure they have their absolute disasters like the Rings of Power too, but it’s not like they’re on the same level of quality as like the freevee’s and roku original shows.

  • Yes, 2 had a lot of re-used locations. Some of them did make sense, as the story was almost entirely set within a single city, so certain locations are bound to pop up multiple times, especially as the game takes place over a decade or so.

But the real reason, 2 was developed and rushed out the door in like a year or something? It was a ridiculously short amount of time to develop a sequel to a game as big as DA:O. Unsurprisingly, this led to a LOT of re used assets and locations.

But though it obviously had failings, I, like some others, would probably put DA2 as the high point for the series telling really character driven stories with the most compelling cast of characters.
