Not that unusual. e.g. TOR started as a governement project. it was invented in the U.S. Naval Research Lab.

Aren’t Mastodon instances maintained by volunteers in their spare time? I can’t imagine how they manage to continue moderating it once there are ten thousand or millions of users on it. At least the moderators on Twitter were paid. It was their job. I think people massively underestimate how much work this is.
What a colossal waste…
Vote to change it to Gulf of Luigi
No idea why nobody linked it yet, but you can buy them here: https://www.comradeworkwear.com/products/the-playing-cards
Just a minor correction. esync and fsync were in wine 5 years before proton even existed. So they were not implemented into proton, but were already part of it from the start.
The European Union seems powerless to counter the assault
Oh please. These pissbaby techbros wouldn’t be crying so much if they weren’t hit where it hurts. It usually takes a while for the wheels of EU bureaucracy to turn, but the following blow is all the harder for it.
As someone who is very happy to live in the EU and proud of what it has achieved so far, I can say: Fuck you Trump and your appendant ulcers!
To be honest, I hope they never do it. Because at this point it is absolutely impossible that it can live up to the hype. It will be a disappointment no matter what.
They can do other games in that universe though. They will work. I actually believe they will work better without HL3 existing.
That’s me with SNES emulators…
Why photon? alexandrite is insanely much better imho: https://a.lemmy.world
afaik foobar2000 works flawless via wine. it is even in the AUR (if you are an Arch user): https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/foobar2000
What device exactly? e.g. i could update my Samsung NVMe firmware with nvme-cli without any problems.

A secret service that protects its own people instead of taking every opportunity to spy on them. remarkable.
I just quit my 270 000$ job at Coinbase to join the first YCombinator fall batch with my cofounder @not_nang. We’re building PearAI, an open source AI code editor.
Of course it is a cryptobro…
dawgt i chatgpt’d the license, anyone is free to use our app for free for whatever they want. if there’s a problem with the license just lmk i’ll change it. we busy building rn can’t be bothered with legal
Yep, already hate that guy. Talks and behaves like an absolute dipshit.
they added some nice tools though. e.g. their pacdiff & meld tool eos-pacdiff is pretty nice. then there is a kernel manager and a pretty clever update-script / wrapper around pacman and yay (eos-update). saying it is just Arch + GUI is selling it a bit short imho.
I don’t see how this is a Wayland problem. X11 has no desktop automation integrated either. You had to use third party tools for that like Autokey. And admittedly, there is still no comparable replacement for Wayland as far i know (maybe KDE scripts? https://develop.kde.org/docs/plasma/kwin/api/ or https://github.com/ReimuNotMoe/ydotool ?). But that is because nobody has fully build one yet, not because some inherent absence of necessary wayland functions.
I was going to say Lutris since that is what i’m using since forever for GOG Games. It even has it directly integrated nowadays and can be connected to your GOG account to basically one-click install the games you own.
But since everybody else here writes “Heroic”! i guess i have to give that a try now…
