  • I have a lot of domains on my lists, I imported quite a few. So to be fair I may be the one causing the issues.

I may just disable the ones I imported for a while and see if anything changes.

Looking at the screenshots, it looks like you can manage some lists and apply block and allows.

But yes, what is the difference? He literally says NextDNS is basically a Saas Pi-Hole.

Sounds like this is just an advert for NextDNS. Who keeps breaking their Pi-Hole and how?

    EDIT

Looks like Pi-Hole just got an update, the UI looks a bit different.

I’ve disabled all my adlists but the default one, gone from 600k+ domains down to 125k. I’ll see if it improves things.

I’ve got a friend coming over who complains about my connection, she uses Apple products where I have Windows and my phone is Android and it seems to cause her problems. She is also constantly on Facebook, Instagram and a few other platforms that rely on spying on you. So she is a great test as well.

  • I remember when people were selling Dota2 invites, the price was way too high for me but then again I didn’t really have interest in it.

Well, I got invited somehow and when a guy I worked with heard, he demanded my Steam credentials.

Why? Because he wanted to play.

I told him no, that’s not happening. So he tried to guilt me, be a bro!

No, because that means I will be locked out of my games. Whenever you go online and play I will get kicked out of Steam and unable to play my games.

So? he says, do me a solid!

Told him to stick it. I did not trust him, he used to tell me stories of pretending to be a girl in games for free stuff. He pretended to be a girl in WoW and so many guys in his guild would give him free stuff and boost him through dungeons.

But yeah, scalpers suck. But I also don’t understand wanting to get into a beta that badly that you’d pay that much for it. I guess some people are loaded and that amount is nothing to them.

  • It’s pretty normal as far as I am aware.

I have another friend who uses Linux and he also disro hops, same as me.

We’ll try out a distro and if it turns out we don’t like it, doesn’t suit our needs, doesn’t support something we want to do or it just breaks then we try another.

I started on Ubuntu many years ago and grew to dislike it. I stay away from Debian for the most part these days. Tried Kubuntu, Ubuntu Studio, Mint etc.

I tried Manjaro and hated it. It stopped working when my monitors went to sleep, could not bring them back. Also had some PC freezes. Tried another installation of it and same thing.

I tried Garuda, did not like.

I tried Pop!_OS but I don’t recall much about it.

I’ve now settled on Fedora based distros. Fedora is quite nice but my main one is Nobara. I’m currently playing around with Bazzite.

I’d like to see what Steam OS is about when they do some releases for their current version. I think I played around with a very old version years ago.

Never tried Arch, I might do it just because or so I can say I did.

I’ve probably forgotten a few others between.

  • I have a reoccurring problem in Linux, happening in both Nobara 39 and 40 as well as Fedora 40. I understand that Nobara is Fedora based.

Sometimes my USB headset just does not detect, at all. Plug it in, no notification sound that it has been plugged in and does not appear as an audio device.

I have tried 3 different headsets and none detect. I have to reboot to solve the issue.

A friend of mine is also running Nobara and also comes across the same issue from time to time. It happened again for me today.

While I like Linux, I would love to stop using Windows and make Linux my main OS… I just cannot. Loads of my games and apps do not work in Linux as well as a lot of hardware control software. It took me ages just to get some software to control my GPU fans and I am unable to control my PC fans. From what I understand my motherboard has no Linux support, I cannot see a single sensor in any software I try. I eventually manually set up fan curves in BIOS.

I definitely does not just work for sure.

Adding my Manjaro experience, not good.

I tried it 3 times, fresh installs but it locks up my PC. If my screens turn off after a set amount of time I cannot wake up my PC. I turned off any sleep/standby/hibernate modes, only the screens turn off. If I head out for lunch and come back, the only way to get back in is to hard reboot.

  • Xbox One wireless controller.

I saw mentiion that enabling ‘Steam Input’ may solve the weapon switch issue, it was disabled for me because of all the Helldivers 2 crashes. Even though I play that with keyboard and mouse.

I was able to switch weapons and stances after that. I’d hold the trigger and nothing.

I read somewhere that the standoff issue is an old issue on the Playstation as well. Someone recommended limiting the FPS to 60 to solve the issue but I’m not going to degrade the performance just to do a standoff. I just avoid doing them until they sort the issue out. Another one is to play with the accessibility options, something in there might be an issue. A recommendation is to toggle the ‘toggle hold buttons’ option.

If all else fails, the good news is that you’re not the only person having this problem. This bug is widely reported on the Ghost of Tsushima subreddit, so the developers will be aware of it. The bad news is you’ll have to play the waiting game and wait for a fix. With any luck, it will come sooner rather than later.
