Can someone ELI5 this for me? I have a jellyfin docker stack set up through dockstarter and managed through portainer. I also own a domain that uses cloudflare to access my Jellyfin server. Since everything is set up through docker, the containers volumes are globally set to only have access to my media storage. Assuming that my setup is insecure, wouldn’t that just mean that “hackers” would only be able to stream free media from my server?
Fair enough! I just like being able to break the routine every now and then to do something new. It’s actually becoming a bit of an issue 😅. I’d love a space on my kitchen wall to display all the different brew methods I have and would like to collect more. Right now I’ve got a gaggia classic pro for espresso, Bialetti for moka, a pour over brewer, cold brew carafe, this vacuum brewer, aeropress, a chemex, and just a regular ol’ drip machine that’s kinda been retired by now. I’d love to find an affordable Europiccola to refurbish!
Woof. Cold brew has the highest caffeine content of any other brew method. You probably drank 4-5 times the amount of caffeine you’re used to lol
Lots of people make valid criticisms of Microsoft and Xbox, but one thing that no one can criticize is their dedication to making products for people with disabilities. They have been consistently releasing these products for people despite a small market for them.

Pokemon is about the universe it was created in. It was the perfect on the go game when we were children and it even had a great anime to go with it. When you were home, you watched Ash and Pikachu take on the world of pokemon. Everything looked so vibrant and cool. Then when it was time for you to go with your parents to a house party, you could play Pokemon on your Gameboy.
It’s just a nostalgia franchise now, but that’s okay. Most people are unhappy with how Game Freak is handling the role of building these games, but maybe one day they’ll make a turn.

I’m mad that people are being sunk by consumerism. The cost of living is sky high right now and people are wasting their money on products that don’t make a whole lot of sense. Theres similar products that work much better for just a little bit more. Hell, buy a used tablet. At least that has processing like I mentioned. You can remote play through the tablet for a fraction of the cost.
Others have said it already, but it’s the best way to describe it. It’s literally just a screen with a controller attached. You can only use it for remote play on a PlayStation console at home. It doesn’t offer cloud gaming and it doesn’t allow you to even connect to WiFi networks that require you to sign on in a browser before gaining access to the Internet because the thing doesn’t even have a browser included in the software. The only common use case I could see for this thing is if you’re going to a friend’s house as a teen and want to play online games while in person.
Even then, as a parent I would much rather just spend the extra money on a steamdeck or other handheld that has compute and actual software. This is a ripe $200 turd that hardcore PlayStation fans and overzealous scalpers are buying.

Counterpoint: Consolidation in such a fast paced industry with a low barrier to entry isn’t as bad as physical goods consolidation. If Microsoft acts in bad faith, people just won’t buy games from that studio anymore, developers will just leave the company and start a new studio, free lance, or work for another party. Further, US customers are accustomed to paying their local sales tax rates. We’re so accustomed to paying odd amounts in sales tax that paying a flat rate might surprise us or leave us a little confused.

Now, selling a prototype that was sent to you to make a video on is not good obviously, but as long as they get compensated for it, it should be no big deal. Logistical fuck ups happen and this isn’t new or uncommon. The whole idea of Linus ruining their public image based on a “bad faith” representation of the product has little standing in my mind. The crux of his assessment of the product is spot on and you also touched on this. There’s like 4 people willing to spend as much on a cooling block made from billet copper as their GPU. Regardless of current Gen or last Gen. Most people are just going to save that money to buy the next generation graphics card or upgrade elsewhere in their build where the price/performance is much more reasonable.

Hypothetically, my docker setup only allows jellyfin to see /mnt/user as /storage. So jellyfin would report the path to Morbius as being:
/storage/hdd1/media/movies/Morbius_all_morbed_up.mkv
when in all actuality it would be:
/mnt/user/hdd1/media/movies/Morbius_all_morbed_up.mkv
My intuition tells me that the file path that jellyfin “sees” would be the security risk. So “/storage/hdd1/…” Is that correct?
