You test in dev? You mean you don’t have a Q&A environment? or staging?
My body is ready
Highly recommend Tripplite
I got me one of these used (with good batteries) for $100
https://www.newegg.com/tripp-lite-smart1500lcd-5-15r/p/N82E16842111052
They have an external connector in the back for adding external batteries and the menu to do so is analog.
I added a golf cart battery to mine tripping the capacity for very very cheap.
Look in the used market.
If you want something better, Eaton is the go to, look for used deals in marketplace / craigslist. I found someone selling Used industrial Eaton UPSs with extended batteries for 150$ the set
Motherboards are all about I/O and connectivity.
Personally, I do the exact same thing (I’m still Running an MSI B350M with a 5900X) but I can understand people that pay a couple hundred bucks to have extra ports / slots or built in wifi or whatever …
$1000 for a motherboard tho … that’s ridiculous. What could possibly be worth 1000$?
what about built in multipoint?
YIKES … I got one worse still … I was NOC at a company where one of my friends from Desktop services made a mistake pushing hard drive encryption and basically corrupted the hard drive of a large number em laptops. It wasn’t everyone thank god because they were rolling it out in stages … but it was THOUSANDS and there was no real way to get it back. Every single one had to get re-imaged.
I work on the field. They pushed an update, their software loads a low altitude driver on the kernel at boot time. The driver is causing servers and workstations to crash. The only fix so far is to reboot in safe mode, restart, uninstall and restart again.
Imagine having to do that by hand, on every windows device in your organization.
RegreSSHion is overblown … it was quickly patched and it was not reliably reproducible every time. It depended on “Luck” to have pointer fall on the right memory space in order to allow the code execution.
I think Terrapin was much much worse … and log4j … log4j was a DISASTER … but point taken.
I wasn’t shrilling my choice of OS tho, I think eternal blue is a lot worse than those other CVEs because the NSA KNEW about it and did not disclose it, and because Windows has a much wider user base of clueless users that easily fooled.
Yall remember eternal blue? no? only me?
Yeah … im never putting any of Micro$oft products on anything I need to be secure … ever
Same boat brother … don’t let the hivemind bother you. I deal with an oracle linix at work for 8h a day, when I get home I don’t want to spend time fixing my own shit … even if it’s going to be better in the long run.
I’ll switch to Mint the second ricochet anti cheat has native proton support …
I have a proposed solution to this …
Straight cut gears
It’s a paid alternative to “Spot-X” and “BlockTheSpot” 🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️
Who would have guess that another overpriced solution to a non existent problem that no one wants would have been a commercial failure …
We are in a capitalist dystopia. We could be using AI to predict energy usage and reduce our dependence on fossil fuels, or help in discovering new protein folds … but no … Timmy wants to look like a cool futuristic dude and he’s willing to pay $600 to look cooler than his peers
Because the feds NEVER act out of their jurisdiction, RIGHT?
Hahahahaha
Darpa would like a word with you
