Just a reminder for those wanting the niche communities of Reddit. Create them here. If you manage to bring just one more user besides yourself you already have a community. After that, it’s just a matter of time for it to grow, provided you keep it active
I’m not on Lemmy ¯_ (ツ)_/¯
Jesus I have to agree to cookies to be agreed shared with 164 “partners” to read the website
I use MX, formerly know as Mepis. Super stable and kept up to date. It used to be Debian based and they still use some Debian repos but it’s largely independent now
Can confirm. I persuaded my wife to switch to Linux some 10 years ago. She’s still using Linux to this day, but I’ve been her tech support for all these years. On the bright side, I’ve become very good at troubleshooting
I recommend reading the letters. Both from X’s lawyers and the amazing reply from the lawyers of the CCDH.
Fair enough. I guess it depends on what you’re used to. I never used Photoshop and I’ve been using Gimp for over a decade now. I do a lot of visual editing for my work and there isn’t anything I haven’t been able to do with Gimp. But yes, some stuff do take hours of work. I also work with FOSS music production software and while I know the commercial ones are easier to use, everything I’ve wanted to accomplish using FOSS music production I’ve been able to get it done. I guess it all depends on what your reference point is
Gimp is really powerful. What are you missing from it?
I’ve been using MX, formerly known as Mepis, for over 15 years now. It’s the most stable release I’ve ever used, and their repos are pretty up to date. The community is great also.
How is it different from NewPipe?
Wow that person was not liked by the community
I have the same questions as you =/
Thanks!
