Not just kids. That bullshit applies to channels that are entirely adult-oriented and yet we’re still having our content censored as if we were children. I’d love to hear what Orwell himself would say about the present state of the internet.

It’s foolish to reinforce such behaviour.
What a surprise… 🙄 The only way Nintendo has worked hard to ‘mitigate the issue’ and still hasn’t landed on Hall Effect as the answer is if they’re purposefully keeping shit components but want them to be just good enough for them to not get sued.
Which means games are pushing themselves out of the market despite looking to make more money.
It’s a bold assumption that parts would even be available to buy.
Absolutely. That review I posted is exactly what I was anticipating when seeing the footage multiple channels were posting back in January. I’m just a little surprised to see so many singing false praises like that shit he shows of a reviewer giving it a 100 and starting with a line like “it has flaws”. I encountered another video where the review had the gall to say “the parkour is the best it’s ever been. It’s nothing like in Unity but the animations are so good”. This is a reviewer who’s previously panned animation-based parkour in favour of the old mechanics-based style. Everyone’s blowing Ubisoft because the company is supposedly on Death’s doorstep despite them having firmly put themselves there. It’s sickening.
A staple of modern journalism.
I just hope the devs behind BetterDiscord are quick to hop over.
Any ‘love’ that wants you to give up your hobby is no love at all.
I’ve never understood and always despised that empty Nobody. It literally adds nothing other than making me hit the downvote no matter how good the rest of the meme is.
There’s absolutely concern about Steam if you’re looking at the discourse. Personally, I hate the Steam launcher and have kept having problems with it ever since they changed the design to be more Baby’s First like everyone else has done (not just taking about launchers here) but the Steam launcher is still better than the others, which is infuriating.
Because a monopoly is a company that operates in their market unopposed. In this instance, it’s not Steam’s fault the opposition kinda sucks (or doesn’t quite aim to be a direct competitor in the case of GoG) but the argument is still there that Steam is sitting as the only distributor for PC.
Personally, this is why I keep wanting to root for GoG, Epic and such. Monopolies are dangerous to consumers and the markets they operate in. Right now, Steam is being surprisingly effective at remaining a “good guy” but there’s a lot of concern even among Steam fans of what the landscape will look like in a post-Gaben world. Setting the PC gaming market up to have Steam as the only option when that inevitably comes to pass (touch wood that that’s no time soon, of course) could spell a certain level of disaster in a world where the anti-monopoly law-makers have shown to not really care about upholding that standard.
Edit: missed words. Never type when struggling to keep your eyes open kids!
I think the top one that comes to mind is Days Gone. I can’t help but feel like we’ve played completely different games when seeing reviews for it from the likes of IGN, for example.
From what I heard, PoE did. Not sure about Diablo.
I shouldn’t have to repair their crappy self-inflicted stick drift though. This easy to repair argument is like saying “It’s okay, the giant shit on your kitchen floor hasn’t dried so it’s easy to mop up.”
Sadly, I don’t see any amount of effort being put into longevity. That’s far too consumer-friendly from any of the big 3
Precisely this. Consideration for the original Switch is exactly how the Series S is causing problems for games on the Series X and PS5. Yes, a cheaper entry is great for gamers who can’t afford but dragging the potential down is a recipe for hamstringing the newer hardware.
No Sega. Bad Sega. Don’t make me get the spray bottle…
Because we have clear evidence that the morons are spoiling ghe market for everyone else. If they hadn’t fallen for the death by a thousand cuts of “it’s only additional content”, “I want to be able to play it on the day of release”, “it’s only cosmetic”, “I don’t care about having a disc”, “I don’t care if I can play something I bought in 5 years”, “you can’t expect a company to run a server in peRPeTuitY”, “it’s only a ToS, it doesn’t mean anything”, “it’s oPTioNal”, “games cost a lot more to make now than they once did”, “it’s fucked now so I’ll come back after they’ve updated it a bit, I don’t need that money now”. They were all lies, all hooks for the idiots that are too dumb to engage their brains for more than a couple of seconds, were never taught how to use money, were never taught how to vote with their wallets nor impulse control, and here we are, not 20 years since the writing was on the wall for those of us who knew how to engage our brains for longer than it takes to click the ‘“buy” now’ button, several serious hits taken to our basic consumer rights, some hanging in the balance, the gaming market on the cusp of imploding and our money devalued by at least 50% if the corpos only stop at Nintendo’s $90 con and, in truth, even less than that since that’s proven to rarely be the actual price of the full game.
So yes, it’s foolish to encourage this behaviour because the morons voted us into oblivion.
