A guy I used to work with would, at least I would swear it, submit shit code just so I would comment about the right way to do it. No matter how many times I told him how to do something. Sometimes it was code that didn’t actually do anything. Working with co-pilot is a lot like working with that guy again.

Right. They design the whole rocket, spend years to build the rocket exactly according to the design doc, then the rocket explodes on the launchpad and they have to start all over.

Like with most things, consent and intent matter. I went out on Halloween when I was a kid and got free candy, so why is it bad if I break in and steal other people’s candy?

I had to take a COBOL class in early 2000s. And one of the two C/C++ courses was 90% talking about programming and taking quizzes about data types and what do functions do, and 10% making things just beyond “hello world.” And I’m still paying the student loans.
