I was specifically meaning that I didn’t think anyone was shitting on anybody here in this thread. I didn’t say the game sucked or that it’s fucking ugly or any of those other hyperbolic statements. I read somebody else’s thoughts on the game and provided my own. I agree the game can look very good, I said I really enjoyed some of the quests. I’m not a part of the starfield community, I’m not trying to piss on anybodies parade. I just like playing games and talking about games I’ve played.

I don’t think anybody is shitting on anyone. It’s a public forum and we’re all allowed to say what we think. How shallow would the discourse be if we were limited to only talking about things positively? Everyone has their own tastes. I played through and enjoyed cyberpunk a couple of months after launch at a time when it was roundly shat upon but it didn’t spoil the game for me.

I didn’t hate it, as I said there were parts I enjoyed. I did all the faction quests and maybe 70 percent of the main story and just came to the realisation that I was finding it a bit of a chore. If I wasn’t having any fun I’d have quit earlier but as I say it just became dull to me. If you’re having fun more power to you, different people like different things.

I played for 80 hours or so, I really wanted to like it. I could forgive the sometimes humorous bugs and the endless loading screens if it wasn’t so boring. Some of the side quests were OK but ultimately it’s just not enough to keep me coming back.

Absolutely, even without all the reddit drama a decentralised version clearly seems to be the smartest way to go. Reddit is it’s community and I think the ceo lost sight of that.

I’m quietly hopeful that more and more people migrate over to lemmy, if it wasn’t for all this api nonsense I’d have never heard of the fediverse. I don’t know how it passed me by but I’m glad to be here now.

It’s just the way things are going, the problem at the moment is form factor but the end game is to have an ar device that looks as much like a standard pair of glasses as possible.

I’m old enough to remember what everyone said about the iPhone when it released and I was one of those who scoffed at it, I was using a Nokia maybe the n95 at the time and it could surf the Internet and do everything the iPhone could do and it had a front camera and a keyboard. I thought the iPhone to be an over priced gimmick. Needless to say I was very wrong. Apple have the money and patience to keep iterating on the vision pro to make it cheaper smaller and more accessible. I think it’s great to have them bring so much attention to this space.
