Obviously. I see it right there. We just don’t have to care here, so I don’t get it.

Yes, and even easier with their app. It just seems strange.
???
How does a free news service have a paywall?
I’m confused. Isn’t karma a Reddit concept? Since we don’t have it here, how would this be an issue?
Good educators incorporate tech into their lessons. UNESCO isn’t helping it’s credibility crisis with such positions.
We really need a way to block entire instances at the user level.
Yep. Turns out I don’t miss it.
Several of us have noticed this since the protests and mass exodus started. It did seem that editing then deleting might protect against Reddit’s restoration of posts and comments.
Update: Just checked. They’ve restored a lot of my old posts. This may turn into a years-long game of whack-a-mole trying to actually get our material deleted from that site.
People with nothing to hide? ::duckingandrunning::
But seriously, excellent question. I certainly don’t post anything even remotely controversial from an account with my real name.
Where can I find a list of all Reddit URLs? I’m hosts blocking them on my laptop (since I also use it outside my home network).
Why can’t the UK govt simply rent their spyware from Israel, like everyone else?
Agreed. But even the best bad option is still a bad option
Ally may be a fine institution that just happens to employ a questionable programmer who likes too many of the wrong trackers. My original point was that, if OP can’t use their services because something they do is a deal breaker, it’s time to switch to a different financial institution — perhaps a member-owned credit union.

“They’re not the worst” isn’t particularly persuasive.
I don’t have a dog in the race, and I’m not likely to do so long as this is a question.
Yeah, Netflix has been profitable for decades. They killed Blockbuster and other rental stores. One doesn’t manage to do that while losing money.
And I want to squash this misunderstanding so everyone knows: I want my instance to preemptively defederate. If they aren’t willing to take this obvious step to protect users from Threads turning on federation without warning in the middle of the night, I’m moving to an instance that will.
Forbes (2020) seems to disagree: “Viewed from the lens of net income, Netflix has been performing well, with its net profits growing 3x from around $0.6 billion in 2017 to $1.9 billion in 2019.” If their profitability increased during the pandemic, as seems likely, this feels more like another naked money grab. It’s almost guaranteed to drive away users, something that they can ill afford under any circumstances.
Yet another case study in how to kill a successful business.
Thanks. It’s going to be an interesting case at trial.
