Canadians: First time?
I use Session because it doesn’t require a phone number.
How much of a PIA is it to install Linux on a Chromebook? I’m looking for a small laptop and Chromebooks are the perfect size.
Anyone remember download accelerator plus? I’d download stuff at night while everyone was asleep, then pause DAP/disconnect from the Internet in the morning. Rinse and repeat.
Same here. Mandrake 8.2 was a buggy mess, but I have fond memories of it.
I have been using a flip phone since 2017, but I’m considering switching to VOIP since I don’t use my phone much anyway.
I use rtorrent and it’s pretty straightforward.

I’ve used Symfony to build REST APIs, CLI tools, admin panels (EasyAdmin)… It’s truly a great framework.
ssh and/or telnet.
I use Debian with a patched version of motif window manager. The 90s never ended:
Not sure if this counts as a tiling window manager, but I spend most of my time in emacs in full screen mode. I can create, delete, resize, and swap my windows.

I still use both. 99% of Usenet is spam, but there still a few active groups (especially under comp.*). The BBS scene on the other hand, is booming. I see new users every week on my favourite board.
Yup, and some servers are very active.
I had to look up what a tankie was. Back in the day, we called them ‘pinkos’.
Congrats!
